Gym Rules
Etiquette, dress code, chalk, photo policy, locker rules, peak-hour conduct. The standard at UnReal.
Gym Rules
UnReal works because the people who train here respect the space and respect each other. The rules are short. They are enforced. Three strikes for repeated violations and your membership ends.
The Non-Negotiables
- Put your weights back. Every plate, every dumbbell, every attachment. This is the rule we enforce hardest. First offence: warning. Repeat: you are out.
- Leave your ego outside. Nobody cares what you can lift. Respect the people training next to you.
- No phone calls on the gym floor. Take it to the changing room or step outside. Music on headphones is fine.
- Proper shoes only. No flip flops. No sandals. No slippers. Closed-toe training shoes only.
- Respect the equipment. Do not slam weights unless you are on a deadlift platform. Wipe sweat from machines and benches before you walk away.
- Heavy deadlifts go on platforms. Floor 6. Not on the rubber matting outside the platform area.
- Three strikes and you are out. Three documented warnings means your membership is terminated. No refund.
Dress Code
Closed-toe training shoes are mandatory. Proper training attire. No jeans. No sandals. No barefoot lifting except on a platform with prior agreement (Olympic lifting context). Shirts on at all times in shared areas. We are a serious gym, dress like you came to train.
Chalk Policy
Chalk is allowed on the powerlifting platforms on Floor 6. That is the only area. Liquid chalk is fine on the rest of the floors. If you chalk up, you wipe down the bar and the platform when you finish. Excess chalk left behind earns you a strike.
Drop-Set and Equipment Fairness
We do not have a formal "work-in" rule but the etiquette is clear. If someone is between sets on a piece you want, ask. If you are running drop sets or supersets that lock down multiple stations, watch the floor. During peak hours, do not hold three pieces of equipment at once. Common sense.
If the gym is full and someone is waiting, wrap up your rest periods. Long rests are for quiet floors.
Peak Hours
Floors 6 and 7 get busiest between 17:00 and 20:00 weekdays. Saturday mornings (09:00 to 12:00) are also high traffic. If you want a quieter session, train between 11:00 and 15:00 or after 20:00. Floor 8 Open Gym is the overflow on Unlimited and + Open Gym plans.
Photo and Video Policy
Personal content is fine. Selfies, training clips for your own feed, progress shots. Train, film, post, no permission needed.
Filming others requires their consent. Thai PDPA law treats unauthorised filming as a criminal offence with fines up to 200,000 THB and up to 10 years in prison. Take this seriously. Frame your shots so other members are not in them.
Commercial filming requires written approval. Crews of any size, brand shoots, sponsored content with multiple cameras, lighting setups: all need the Filming Crew Policy signed off at least 2 days in advance. Email staff@unrealgymthailand.com. Crews are capped at 4 people, no shoots in locker rooms or restrooms, and a filming fee may apply.
Posing Room photos. Reserve the room and shoot what you like. Personal use.
We have a partner network for paid shoots (Oleg, George). Photo packages start at 4,000 THB / hour, include raw footage, reels packs, and long-form cinematic options. Ask at the front desk.
Lockers and Belongings
- Daily lockers are free. Bring something as collateral for the key (ID, card, watch). Collect at the end of the session.
- Monthly lockers: 1,300 THB / month or 3,000 THB / 3 months. Your own locker, your own key. Subject to availability.
- We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Do not leave valuables in open lockers or on the floor.
- Bags belong in lockers or the cubbies, not on the gym floor.
Hygiene
- Wipe down equipment after every set. Spray bottles and paper towels on every floor.
- Shower before Reset Club (mandatory before sauna or ice bath, non-negotiable).
- Use deodorant. We provide it in the changing rooms.
- Sweat-soaked shirts on shared equipment is a strike.
Children
Ask the front desk before bringing anyone under 16. Staff will confirm whether the visit is appropriate for the session, time, and supervision available.
Guests
Members do not get free guest passes. Friends visiting Bangkok pay the standard day pass rate (500 THB UnReal Gym, 650 THB + Open Gym, 950 THB Unlimited). Bring them in during staffed hours.
Music
We pick the music. Curated playlists shift across the day to match the energy on the floor. If you want your own, bring headphones. Do not play music out loud from your phone. That is a strike.
