UnReal Gym Bangkok
Powerlifting and bodybuilding floor at UnReal Gym, a short BTS ride from Asok

Asok / Asoke

A short ride west.
A real gym at the end of it.

UnReal is not in Asok. It is two BTS stops east, on Sukhumvit Soi 24 by Phrom Phong. 51 iStore Building, Floors 6 to 8, Sukhumvit Soi 24. Serious lifters near Asoke make the short hop because this is where the platforms, the calibrated plates, the IFBB Pro coaching and the posing room actually are.

The honest distance

Two stops east. Worth every minute.

Let us be straight about geography. UnReal is not an Asok gym. The gym sits on Sukhumvit Soi 24, two minutes from Phrom Phong BTS, which is two stops east of Asok on the Sukhumvit line. If you live or work around Asoke and you want a gym you can roll out of bed into, there are closer options.

But closer is not the same as better. The chain gyms and hotel fitness floors around Asok are built for general fitness: a row of treadmills, a few selectorised machines, a small free-weight corner. Fine for a maintenance session. Not built for someone chasing a squat PR or peaking for a stage.

The trip from Asok is genuinely short. Board the Sukhumvit line heading east, ride two stops, walk two minutes from Phrom Phong Exit 1. Door to gym floor is usually under 15 minutes, and you skip Sukhumvit traffic entirely by staying on the train. For a real training session, that beats fighting for a rack at a generic gym a block from your office.

Why lifters make the hop

Built for the work, not the lobby.

UnReal runs three dedicated floors in the iStore Building. That is the difference you feel the moment you walk in. There is no compromise between cardio space and a deadlift platform, because each floor has a job.

Floor 6 is legs and powerlifting: two competition squat racks, two deadlift platforms, calibrated plates, specialist bars, and the heavy plate stock. The kind of setup you cannot improvise at a hotel gym.

Floor 7 is upper body and prep: bench stations, cable crossovers, dumbbells from 2 to 60 kg, the InBody 570 scanner, and the only stage-quality posing room in central Bangkok.

Floor 8 is Muay Thai and Reset Club BKK: a full striking area plus a TylöHelo sauna, ice bath, and rooftop recovery deck. Co-founded by IFBB Pro and three-time Mr. Universe Calum Von Moger, this is a gym staffed by people who compete, coach, and study the work. That is what the short ride buys you.

The route

Asok to UnReal, step by step.

From Asok BTS (station E4), take the Sukhumvit line heading east toward Bearing or Kheha. Ride two stops and get off at Phrom Phong (E5). On a normal day the ride is a few minutes, and you avoid the Asoke and Sukhumvit traffic completely.

At Phrom Phong, take Exit 1 and turn right onto Sukhumvit Road. Walk about 100 metres, then turn right into Sukhumvit Soi 24. The iStore Building is roughly a minute along the soi on your left, set back slightly from the road. Take the lift to Floor 6, 7, or 8.

If you would rather not take the train, a Grab or taxi from Asok to the iStore Building is short in distance but slower in Sukhumvit traffic. Search "iStore Building Sukhumvit 24" in any ride app. For most people the BTS is faster and cheaper, which is exactly why the regulars take it.
